Cagliari Airport Library hosts "Traveling Toward" event: discovering Sardinian wildlife
Appointment Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, April 18 at 4 p.m. the Cagliari Airport Library (First example in Italy of a library/library inside an airport) will host a Roundtable discussion in which the wonderful world of Sardinia's wildlife will take center stage.
In this article:
The Journey toward the discovery of the most fascinating and perhaps least known endemics of the regional territory, the result of millennia of biogeographical isolation of the Island, will be told by photographer naturalist Domenico Ruiu and by hyperrealist artist Tiziana Sanna..
The meeting, moderated by journalist Stefano Birocchi, will be attended by the Department of Environmental Defense of the Region of Sardinia, which will testify to its initiatives in wildlife conservation and protection activities, and the Sardinia section of LIPU, an association committed nationwide to nature conservation, biodiversity protection and the promotion of ecological culture.
The conformation of Sardinia, its ecological characteristics and relatively little anthropization compared to the extent of the territory have preserved the pristine aspect of its nature. In order to defend it, network work between the Regional Administration, the Regional Authorities and Agencies, the Parks and Marine Protected Areas, the Provinces and the Environmental Education Centers is indispensable, with the involvement of the entire population, starting with children. The development of greater sensitivity to the preservation of the Sardinian ecosystem can also be effectively promoted through iconic and evocative images such as those in Ruiu's shots and Sanna's canvases, and this is what gave rise to the idea of the roundtable discussion next Tuesday at the Cagliari Airport Library.
In recent weeks the a Cagliari Airport Library. hosted another event, with the presentation of the author's book Piergiorgio Pulixi.
