Yesterday, one of our (lucky) readers wrote to us asking whether the communication received by email from ITA Airways was true or a phishing activity. We contacted a Volare representative and confirmed to us that notification to the winners of the competition was in progress held to celebrate the one millionth member to the Italian company's loyalty program.
The competition
In this article:
The contest included two phases. The first an instant win and a final draw with a total of 14million Volare points up for grabs.
The mails
The email sent by ITA to the lucky winner invites him to redeem the 200k point prize, or one of the daily rewards, points that unfortunately are not yet used to reserve an award ticket but can be used to discount 1,000 euros from the purchase of a ticket. We therefore advise everyone to check their mail, spam, and trash.
You must reply to the email with the requested data within 7 days of receiving the email, penalty of losing the award, then check and, if necessary, respond immediately.
In conclusion
Our reader was very happy (and lucky ed) and told us that he had never won anything in the game so we are happy for him and for once we can say that we know a winner of a contest in which we also participated. My advice is not to waste them on ITA, but to wait The arrival of Lufthansa and the move to Star Alliance..
