Month after month, Emirates' refurbished A380s enter service: an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars, which will bring aboard more than 70 A380s not only the new premium economy cabin, but also a revamp of all other booths.
Where A380s fly today with premium economy
In this article:
A small premise must be made. A380s with premium economy today already reach many network destinations of the Dubai carrier, the difference is that only in a small circle of destinations does EK guarantee, barring problems, the use of aircraft with this set-up. In other cases it continues The policy of free upgrades offered to lucky passengers.
A total of 12 routes will be guaranteed the new cabin by the end of 2023. Today you can book it for flights to New York JFK (the flight from Dubai, not the one from Milan), San Francisco and Houston, as well as London Heathrow, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne and Singapore. In July the new cabin will debut in Los Angeles.
New routes to India
Emirates has announced that premium economy will be available for customers flying to and from Mumbai and Bangalore, starting Oct. 29. Emirates will operate its flagship A380 aircraft, newly adapted to these two popular Indian spots, with new Premium Economy seats as well as upgraded interiors that offer an elevated experience in all other cabin classes.
Travelers flying on the Dubai-Mumbai route can book Emirates premium economy seats on EK500/501, while customers flying between Dubai and Bangalore can book their flights on EK568/569 to enjoy the industry's latest premium economy product with luxurious seats, more legroom, and an elevated dining experience.
Beyond PE there is much more
As well as the introduction of Premium Economy on the upgraded aircraft, guests in all cabins can enjoy the refreshed interiors that sport Emirates' distinctive ghaf tree motif. Renovations and aesthetic enhancements that can be enjoyed by passengers during their travels on the upgraded A380 aircraft include a mixture of beautiful designs and new color palettes, evident throughout the aircraft, carpet, wall panels, and wood trim.
Emirates' A380 is loved by customers for its spacious and comfortable cabins, tranquility, and unique onboard features such as the Onboard Lounge and First Class Shower Spa. Customers can also enjoy the Award-winning ICE in-flight entertainment system with more than 5,000 on-demand channels via the industry's largest screens in all cabins.
Currently no routes over Italy
Therefore, there are currently no plans to use these planes regularly in Milan and Rome, where EK flies the A380.
Italian passengers heading to a destination served with PE, however, can still book the route from Dubai to their final destination with a mixed booking between the different routes.
