On the occasion of the Delivery ceremony of the new Airbus A330/900neo, inside the Airbus plant in Toulouse, I was hosted at this hotel in the Radisson chain. I don't often talk about this chain, although it is one of the three that has a direct link to American Express and that Gives several privileges to Amex Platinum cardholders.
In this article:
The reason is that it is not very popular and especially I don't like the loyalty program at all, but if you are a guest you can only say thank you ITA and thank you Airbus.
Location
Like all Hotels in the vicinity of an airport, its main function is to serve passengers and crews, but here we are in Toulouse and it is not just another airport. Here is the headquarters of Airbus, ATR and dozens and dozens of aviation companies. So this hotel also serves as a base for a lot of professionals.
It can be reached in 5 minutes by shuttle from the airport, willingly I think you can get there on foot without major problems.
Check-in
Paperwork done in seconds, I also asked to add my Rewards card, since I didn't book/pay for it, I shouldn't receive any benefits, but never say never, adding it doesn't cost anything.
And as you can see the stay results, but did not generate any points.
The room
The hotel is a three-story square building, with an enclosed garden in the center that half of the facility's rooms overlook.
My room overlooked the outside, coincidentally Airbus view, for being a "frugal" hotel, I must say that the whole facility, room compres,a seemed to me to be definitely above the industry average.
Very large room, too bad about the two single beds instead of the French mattress, armchair and desk.
Of course mega-screen and all the standard equipment of this type of hotel, including coffee maker and ironing board. You don't want a flight attendant not to be able to iron his uniform before he leaves.
The bathroom was also generous in size and with zero plastic, as all liquids were in reusable dispensers.
Services
For a hotel near an airport and outside the center it is really nice and well-kept, it almost seems wasted.
The hotel has a spa, but I did not have time to visit it. It houses several meeting rooms and one is really dedicated to corporate events.
The most surprising thing, however, was the garden, which once seen up close turned into a vegetable garden.
Herbs that are used by the restaurant's chefs are grown here, and there are also four rows of grapes, as well as a couple of beautiful olive trees.
In the evening it is a perfect location for aperitiv-we are in France, just write it in the local language; in the morning it is perfect (weather permitting) for breakfast al fresco.
Food & Beverage
I only had breakfast, but I must say that I was amazed at the much better service than what would be logical to expect in these hotels.
Rich buffet, many local products, a focus on sustainability, and even the ability to squeeze your own oranges.
The environment is also very polished, in some ways too much so given that we are in a hotel where guests are often focused on doing everything fast and quick.
In conclusion
A facility that amazed me and has the only flaw of being 10 minutes from the center of the beautiful city that is Toulouse.
