Review Hilton Heathrow, perfect if you want to sleep inside terminal 4
If you want to sleep near London Heathrow Airport there are many options, this hotel is directly connected to terminal 4

Sleeping near, or inside, an airport, has its advantages. First of all if you fall asleep in the morning you have a better chance of getting to the gate on time, before it is too late. I remember it No travel insurance will compensate the passenger who fell asleep in the room as at the gate or lounge, so be sure to always set an extra alarm clock and don't count on "waking up as accurate as a Swiss bell."
Location
In this article:
This hotel is not inside Heathrow airport., but it is one of the most easily accessible ones bearing in mind that we are talking about an airport divided over 5 terminals, very far apart, so you have to Always consider not so much the location as which terminal is convenient for us.
In my case arriving from Milan with ITA Airways and knowing that the Italian airline lands at terminal 4 this was a perfect facility.
Unlike other hotels in the vicinity of the airport, but reachable only by a means of locomotion, this hotel is connected to the terminal by a walkway. Very convenient if you arrive late at night, leave early in the morning, or if you have a long connection and want to sleep a few hours in a bed and not in a lounge.
Obviously if you are departing from or arriving at a different terminal you can travel by the same means, at starting with the Hotelhoppa shuttle service.
Reservation
One of the questions I get asked most often about Hilton hotels is "how do I get guaranteed free breakfast?" the answer is simple. You have to have Gold status, which is achieved by making 15 stays or effortlessly for those who are American Express Platinum holder.
It is not necessary to do anything more than Book, the basic and cheapest room, through the official website or app and so you will be entitled to room upgrades, free breakfast and other small attentions.
Be sure to always activate any promotions that allow you to speed up point collection.
Check-in and room
I arrived in the evening from Linate, I thought I had already checked in via the app and also chose a room. Upon arrival however, the app was asking me to check in so I went to the traditional front desk. A couple of minutes and I had my key and was headed to the room.
Having hobnobbed in the lounge before departure, I headed to the room, although I must say I really liked the ambiance of this hotel and had I not been tired I would have had a beer in the bar.
My room on the 4th floor was cool, I have the impression that the hotel was recently renovated, both public spaces and corridors and rooms look relatively modern.
In the room is the classic package found in a hotel of this level.o, in the vicinity of an airport. This is where you mainly come for an overnight stay, this is where crews and passengers who need comfortable support stay. Of course then sometimes you happen to find little gems, like the Radisson in Toulouse, but in 99% of cases these structures are all more or less the same.
The structure
Here the resemblance to the Marriott a few miles away is really striking, not in the finishes so much as in the architectural structure. A glass/steel structure that creates an immense covered plaza and on either side two small buildings that house the rooms, some facing the inner courtyard others facing outside.
PS It also looks a lot like the Marriott near Rome Fiumicino, but this one is definitely cooler and much less lived-in than the Roman hotel.
It is definitely more beautiful at night than during the day, but I must say that in the morning light it does not lose all its charm and indeed, the breakfast room so open feels like having breakfast in an outdoor café in an Italian piazza, but here we are in London and it rains practically all the time, particularly this summer.
Breakfast
The hotel has a restaurant/bar that occupies the square behind the reception. The décor is very pleasant, even the color scheme and floors are really relaxing
The service is buffet style, and I must say. Is one of the best buffets I have found recently in a hotel in the Western world. Well-distributed products, lots of variety, attention to different food needs in a clean and well-kept environment.
Excellent omelet station and I must say also. Good quality of the product served. Excellent staff presence in the dining room, ready to refill your glass of orange juice or cup of coffee, something that is definitely not a given.
Executive Lounge below average
In contrast to the rest of the hotel, the Executive Lounge has not yet been renovated, but will be shortly. Service inside is skimpy.
You can work with it and little more, the thing that amazed me was the beer fridge, locked.
In conclusion
One does not come here for vacation, but out of necessity. The beauty of being connected to the terminal takes away the stress of having to take a bus or drag your luggage for miles. Of course if you arrive/depart from a different terminal this advantage does not exist, but since Etihad (the A380 is back) Singapore, Air France and many other airlines often used by Italians are departing from the 4th is worth considering.
