L'Barcelona Airport could be named The best airport in the world in terms of independent airport lounges, even more could be elected the realm of unofficial lounges.
In this article:
After being I was amazed when I visited the Pau Casals, today I was amazed at a smaller lounge strategically placed at the end of the terminal near the gates dedicated to the air bridge connecting the Catalan city with Madrid.
Access
This lounge is independent and is operated, like many others at this airport, by the same operator who in Italy recently opened Primeclass And it is no match for its big sister Pau Casals.
Access is based on the ticket, there are active agreements with so many companies, and the passenger's stauts. In addition to this, access is also through Priority Pass and other similar cards.
Since it is always the same manager multiple lounges cannot be visited with the same boarding pass, this forces a choice. In this lounge I recommend coming only if you are traveling with Iberia and to Madrid, in all other cases stay in the more central, large and beautiful one.
Location
As mentioned it is in the area where there is a micro terminal dedicated to passengers of the Shuttle connecting BCN with MAD, an organization designed to optimize travel and reduce downtime for all passengers, and is within walking distance of the rest of the airport in less than 5 minutes.
The lounge
The style is very reminiscent of Pau Casals starting with the large glass area that allows for tat much natural light, the only flaw is that the view of the runway is only a small segment the rest is at the back of the terminal toward the parking lots.
The hall is large and can accommodate more than a hundred people, true it is decentralized from the heart of the terminal but Of shuttles with MAD there are one every 25 minutes or almost.
Past the entrance there is on the left the buffet area and toward the back of the room the business area with some office tables, power outlets, comfortable chairs, and lamp on the table. On the other side are many tables with seats and sofas of various types and a small meeting room.
Definitely the best place to be are the leg-rest chairs with finger views, perfect for watching people and movements on the runway. There is no shortage of power outlets that are plugged in everywhere, impossible to run out of power.
Food & Beverage
Of course there is not the choice of the big sister, but it stands up for itself. I arrived mid-afternoon and there was no hot offer, but maybe there never is.
For everything else there was a little bit of everything, sweet and savory. Fruit and snacks, in short if it were in Italy it would be in the top5 (or almost) here it doesn't hold a candle to the others. Same for wines and drinks, okay, but not like Casals.
In conclusion
Designed to serve passengers who arrive exactly 5 minutes before the flight, with few needs and little time. Despite this at any other airport in Europe and beyond would be, probably, the best in the entire airport. Bright, clean, neat and with everything you look for from an independent lounge in what is the second busiest airport in Spain.
For this high grade and a desire to return.

Pro
- Bright
- Spacious
Against
