Yesterday we talked about the new collaboration between the respective loyalty programs of Etihad and Air France KLM. Showed new ways to use FB points to redeem award tickets aboard the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and The accumulation of Ethiad Guest points when flying AF or KLM.
In this article:
Now Flying Blue has also published the table for accumulating points when flying aboard EY.
Earn Flying Blue points by flying Etihad
The accumulation of points will be calculated based on the distance flown with a multiplier linked to the cabin according to the following table:
- The Residence - P: 400%
- First Class - F, A: 275%
- Business Class - J: 200%; C, D: 175%; W, Z: 130%
- Economy Class - Y, B: 100%; H, K, M, Q: 75%; L, V, U, E, G: 50%; T: 25%
It is clear that for the cheapest tickets, the importance of class is critical in figuring out how many FB points will be accumulated with each individual leg flown.
How to get the points
At present, it is not possible to have automatic accumulation, it is likely that you will have to wait for the respective systems to be updated to operate two programs that do not participate in the same alliance. For flights to be credited to their Flying Blue account, members must:
- Send the request to the Flying Blue Customer Service Center;
- Submit the request up to 6 months after the date of the flight;
- Provide boarding pass and electronic ticket confirmation.
No XP points (for now)
On the dedicated page on Flying Blue's website there is no mention of benefits for those with status, which should be announced in the coming weeks, and there is no mention of accumulation of XP points, i.e., points useful for status renewal. Since last October, the FF has eliminated this possibility from the programs of non-Skyteam carriers, we will see if this will also be so with those flying Etihad.
