Qatar Airways, one of the world's best airlines, decided to enter the world of Italian soccer, the last major league where the company had not yet entered as a sponsor of a soccer team. Thus the upcoming derby della Madonnina will not only be played on the field, but also in the air since from today Inter Milan will be sponsored by Qatar, while Emirates has had its logo on Milan's shirts for years.

As part of a group-wide partnership, the multi-year agreement will include branding, hospitality and marketing rights, including Tailor-made travel solutions for all Inter fans.
The partnership helps Qatar Airways strengthen its presence in Italy and Europe, a region of utmost importance to the airline. The partnership will also see extended group-wide rights with Inter, which include:
- Hamad International Airport as an "Official Airport"
- Qatar Duty Free as "official duty-free"
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club as "Official Frequent Flyer Program"
- Qatar Airways Holidays as the "Official Fan Travel Partner" in Qatar.
To celebrate this partnership, on the second day of the Dubai Airshow, Eng. Badr Al Meer hosted members of the Inter management team with a tour of the Qatar Airways aircraft on display. Inter legend, FIFA World CupTM champion and UEFA Champions League winner Marco Materazzi also made a surprise appearance to commemorate what is expected to be an extraordinary sporting partnership with Qatar Airways Group.
The Inter delegation explored the Business Class suite aboard the Boeing 787-9, the award-winning Qsuite on the Airbus A350-1000 and the latest generation Qatar Executive private jet, the Gulfstream G650ER. The delegation gave Qatar Airways Inter jerseys printed with the number "7" to commemorate the airline's seven-time title of "World's Best Airline."
Qatar Airways Group CEO Eng. Badr Al Meer said, "Qatar Airways' relationship with Milan dates back to 2002, when we announced Milan as our first service city in Italy from Doha. The partnership with soccer phenomenon Inter closes the circle of our relationship with this vibrant city. Italy is one of Qatar Airways' most valued markets, and this partnership will help deepen our relationship not only with Milan, but with all markets in Europe and Asia where Inter has a huge following. We look forward to working with the club to chart a new era of success, both on and off the field."
"We are really proud to welcome Qatar Airways into our family as a global partner," explained Alessandro Antonello, Corporate CEO of FC Internazionale Milano. "This agreement confirms the ever-growing appeal of our brand, which is now linked to one of the world's leading airlines that shares our ongoing commitment to creating connections between places and people around the world. Through this partnership, Qatar Airways will have access to our key touchpoints: our fanbase of more than 400 million supporters worldwide, our illustrious history, our values and our unwavering connection to the city of Milan will support our new partner in developing its business."
To celebrate the partnership, Qatar Airways Privilege Club will offer Inter fans discounts of up to 12% on airline tickets to attend the legendary Italian team's challenge at San Siro Stadium.
