Ryanair opens a new base in Reggio Calabria and 10 new routes: here is the operational for summer 2024 for Calabria

The Irish low-cost carrier will invest 100 million dollars for the opening of a new base in Reggio Calabria and will open 10 new routes (8 from Reggio Calabria, 1 from Lamezia Terme and 1 from Crotone); Ryanair, in total, will offer as many as 30 routes from Calabria's 3 airports.

Ryanair, then, Will base two new aircraft - one in Lamezia and another in Reggio Calabria - and will create 200 new jobs, for pilots and flight attendants and engineers. 

The Irish company expects to carry up to 1.3 million passengers (+20%) thanks to the over 180 flights per week It will carry out from Calabrian airports. 

In Reggio Calabria, Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said:

10 new routes for summer '24. Overall, Ryanair will record a capacity growth of more than 20% spread over all 3 airports in Calabria (Lamezia, Crotone and Reggio). This important expansion marks the beginning of a long-term strategy with President Occhiuto and the region to position Calabria as a leading destination in Europe and grow inbound tourism, connectivity and employment while offering low fares to citizens/visitors."
