If I consider the program Flying Blue the best frequent flyer for us Italians (and more) is because it has all the right characteristics in the right place. Points that don't (almost) ever expire, many prize places, Family point pooling and discount for children's award tickets and especially because Every 1st of the month the offers to fly with discount come out.
