I have never been attracted to South Korea, but sooner or later I want to organize a nice tour to see beyond the capital city what this nation has to offer. Having to stay somewhere one night. During a leg of my world tour I bet on this hotel to accumulate a qualifying stay and a handful of Hilton Honors points.
Reservation
In this article:
As always you book through the app. If at the Hilton Narita I used the points here I preferred to book and pay, the cost of the reward night was not so cheap compared to the €140 room cost.
Of course, I activated the Hilton promotion and Took advantage of the X2 tariff. The first one gives me a bonus of 2000 points each stay, the second allows me to doubling the base points I accumulate with this reservation. The X2 fare costs more than the basic fare, but it has the advantage of being cancelable until the night before check-in without penalty, as well as precisely the accumulation of bonus points.
Before booking with the X2 rate only for points, it is always good to evaluate the cost difference from the amount of points you will get, because it may not be cost-effective. After all, this solution is nothing more than an alternative method of buying points.
Location
The hotel is located in one of Seoul's most popular neighborhoods, Gangnam. Here are the stores, nightlife and several interesting spots in the city.
One of the many bike paths passes in front of the hotel, and if you want, you can take an electric scooter and frolic around the city, I as usual I prefer to walk aimlessly And turn left or right according to instinct.
Check-in
Garden Inn is one of the most budget friendly by Hilton, it is also one that does not offer among the benefits to elite customers the upgrade, but despite this I was given a better room than the one I had booked.
Having done the paperwork and also received a coupon for a free drink, I went straight to the room.
The room
The upgrade gave me a family room, so a considerably more spacious room with a double bed, a kitchen area, and a really spacious bathroom.
I have no idea how old the hotel is, but everything looks new.
Comfortable bed, nice colors and plenty of space. The room equipment is the classic: mega-screen, espresso machine, kettle, mini-bar, etc.
Also on the table is a welcome card and a small (sweet) gift from the Loyalty Manager.
in the bathroom all perfect, with shower and tub, zero plastic, and my beloved full optionals (or almost) Japanese toilet seat.
The structure
On the top floor of the hotel is a small gymnasium, branded Technogym, You can run while looking down on the wear and tear of modern life in one of the world's largest metropolises.
There would also be a rooftop pool, but February is winter in Korea as well, so space closed until April.
On the ground floor is the lobby with a small pantry, in which they also sell Hilton-branded briefcases.
A small area to wait for friends or a cab and a Café where you can spend your drink coupon.
Facilities also included a guest laundry, small meeting rooms, and a restaurant that I did not visit because I was leaving very early in the morning.
Dulcis In fundo, before I left for my cab, the doorman greeted me with a bag of cookies as partial compensation for missing breakfast.
In conclusion
A very good solution, Hilton does not have many facilities, and this had seemed to me to be the best of those available.
