Summer has not yet begun, it is true, but some people are already preparing for the winter vacations. ITA Airways announced that during the upcoming winter season it will increase frequencies from Rome-Fiumicino to Miami: specifically, from October 31 from 7 will be changed to. 9 weekly frequencies.

The two additional flights are scheduled on Thursday and Saturday: they will take off from FCO at 3:00 p.m. and land in Miami at 9:55 p.m. (local time); the return from Miami, on the other hand, is scheduled for 11:20 p.m. and the arrival in the Eternal City is scheduled at 3:10 p.m. (local time). ITA, moreover, specifies that the two additional routes will be operated with the new Airbus A330neo.Â
The increase in frequencies to Miami underscores the importance of North America, the strategic market that ITA focuses on the most (after Italy); in fact, to date, there are 8 the direct links that the Italian flag carrier operates to North America: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Washington.Â
The Italian flag carrier has also decided to increase frequencies from Rome (FCO) to Malé, the capital of the Maldives: during the holiday season, more specifically between 12/30/2024 and 05/01/2025, ITA will operate six flights per week. Departure from Fiumicino Airport is scheduled at 10:15 p.m. and arrival at Velana-Malè Airport is scheduled for 11:25 a.m. (local time); on the reverse leg, however, it will take off from Malè at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in Rome at 7:50 p.m. (local time).Â
