It's unbelievable, in what I consider One of the worst airports in the world I discovered a lounge that would not disfigure in any airport in the world, and in some airports would even be revered.
In this article:
Here is my review of the Encalm Privé lounge, not to be confused with the Encalm base that I have already had a chance to review.
Location
Finding it is not easy, but the treasure hunt pays off. You cross the central plaza, avoiding going up to the upper level where there is the Air India lounge, now closed, and the one accessible with Priority Pass, the Encalm base.
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
Here there is a long corridor and at the end you take the elevator and go up one level, when the doors open we will be in front of the reception desk.
Access
The hall Is operational exclusively to business or first class passengers, there is no credit card of any kind, and it is not clear to me whether you can enter with status. What is certain is that you have to have an invitation to hand in at the desk to enter.
The lounge
I was not starting out biased, more and magically it was WOW. The ambiance is very ethnic, starting with the colors and finishes, but I must say that it is by no means cloying or tacky. In the center of the huge lounge is the bar counter topped by a giant flame, all in the middle of a kind of open plaza in the middle of a room with a very high ceiling.
All around are bar-style seating, and if you wish, you can also sit at the counter. To one side is the lounging area with a view of the terminal.
On the opposite side, open kitchens are developed.
One should not make the mistake of not going to the discovery, convinced that beyond there are only bathrooms. Nothing could be more wrong. The further one gets into the lounge, the more lounges and facilities pop up.
First there is a quieter room, and away from the noise of the lounge.
Then there is the wellness area, there is a welness bar, spa, a Gymnasium, and showers.
Continuing on we still find sleeping rooms isolated from what is happening outside.
The deeper you go into the bowels of the lounge, the more spaces jump out to be experienced. Such as the cigar room, the library or the small e-sports palace. For those who need to hold a meeting, there is also a meeting room that can accommodate as many as 20 people.
The spa
Some services are free, others charge a fee.
I took the opportunity for a head half-hour massages, so much I had time and for 1700 rupees it seemed like a perfect investment. Access to the small gymnasium is free, while there is a charge for the pods.
Food & Beverage
This room should be called something different to avoid confusion With that accessible to PP customers.
The kitchens are open and there are also real spots where dishes are prepared to order by guests.
I restrained myself so as not to spoil my appetite aboard Lufthansa's first class, there really is everything. From savory to sweet to ice cream.
In addition to the central bar, there are two islands for hot drinks and soft drinks.
Special coffees, and centrifuges are prepared in the wellenss bar.
In conclusion
A real surprise, an oasis away from the chaos of this airport, the crush that greets you when you arrive, the lines to get in, immigration and the world's most finicky and absurd controls.
As always it is the unexpected things that make one happy, and this lounge was really a nice surprise.
