Summer edition of TFCbest and TFCflop to compile my personal ranking of the trousse that are given to First Class passengers.
In this article:
In the past 18 months, I have flown aboard many first-class cabins, an increasingly rare and less common chair in skies around the world. At the product level, my preferences are clear.
Best of all is the Singapore Airlines Suite on the A380, the one I would go crazy for is without any doubt La Premiere, while at the foot of the podium I place The Gamechanger the First "secret" of Emirates.
In this article I want to talk about a special aspect of first class travel, that is, of what you can take home (in addition to the recode), I'm talking about the best and the worst amenity kits that are given away to passengers and evaluate them based on the aesthetics of the product and its reusability, the quality and quantity of the contents of the clutch bag, and the rest of the overnight kit.
The basic package
All the airlines where I have traveled give the passenger pajamas., even if the flight is completely daytime. Same for the slippers.
Beware, however, that on some "short" routes things may be different. I happened, for example, on the Dubai/Muscat flight, which lasts less than 60 minutes, to receive nothing (or almost nothing).
My TOP5
For the rest then each company has a different approach
#5 La Premiere.
Unbelievable, but true Air France's proposed solution is not the best one.
Certainly the package that is offered contains fine products from Sisley, but it is hardly reusable. I use it on my desk as a container for cards, but I really don't see how it can be useful once it is emptied. In addition to this It always amazes me that LP doesn't have two different products based on the gender of the traveler, which many companies also do in business class.
#4 British Airways.
If Ba's First Class didn't convince me, I can't say the same thing about the trousse that is gifted to passengers.
Two different products aesthetically for males and females, as the content in quantity and quality of products.
#3 All Nippon Airlines.
On an aesthetic level, no one beats ANA, the trousse is a very elegant little trolley, a similar product to what other companies offer but we are talking about a higher level here.
The content is also top-notch. Among all the airlines, Japan's leading carrier is also the one that amazed me with the originality of some products such as the first class aroma, which is the perfume used in the cabin to take home to feel like you are still aboard The Suite. In addition to this ANA is the only one who gives a cardigan in addition to pajamas, a real nice touch.
#2 Singapore.
The only one that stands up to Emirates. The contents of the trousse are plenty and quality. Of course it's not Emirates' Bvlgari products, but it's very close. The pajamas then are by far the best of what is provided by the different companies.
#1 Emirates,
I have traveled several times aboard Emirates First Class and I must say that there is almost no match with the rest of the companies. If until early 2023 the clutch's aesthetic care was a little lacking, with the latest versions since the summer of last year, further renovated recently, EK has definitely made the gap behind him.
Even considering that each passenger is also given an extra bag to conveniently take home all the kit (and more)
And the worst ones instead are.
Speaking of the worst, I must say that in this ranking. Lufthansa and Swiss are tied for the least generous and imaginative first classes where I've ever flown, but it's a constant since even what's given in business class is "little stuff" when compared to much less emblazoned airlines.
Even Qatar did not convince me with its offer, which is the same as the business, but perhaps with the new first class things should change again. Finally also Etihad, from post covid, offers F passengers the same clutch bag that is given in business class, really a fall in style.
In conclusion
Obviously anything given to passengers can be taken home as a souvenir, it goes without saying, but good to remember, the blanket the pillows and headphones should be left on board. In the coming weeks. I'll be flying a couple of new first-class And we will see if I need to update the content of this article.
