Passing through (quickly) from Cancun, I opted for a facility near the airport and not in the Hotelera area. When I travel, I always try to spend as little as possible, it doesn't matter if I book with points or cash, this means that if I have an early flight in the morning, or arrive late in the evening I generally book a cheap facility.
In this article:
The reason is simple in these situations you enjoy the structure much less so there is no point in wasting tens or hundreds or thousands of points by staying one night in a hotel where you check in at 11 o'clock at night or check out at 7 o'clock in the morning.
Reservation
Four Points is a Marriott group sign, a popular brand even though there are only 4 properties in Italy; it is a low-cost version of Sheraton of which it is a sub-brand. I booked a basic room for one night, I knew I would stay just long enough to sleep, have breakfast and then leave again.
One night at a cost of 80$, so minimum expense and maximum yield.
The room
The hotel is located away from the more touristy areas, in an industrial zone, but I was not looking for anything special for this stop-over.
Hotel chain standard, comfortable king bed in a room with all the usual amenities expected of this type of hotel.
Same for the bathroom and other options.
Also in the room is a sweet welcome surprise, a gesture that costs little, but which
Services
The hotel has a rooftop pool, perfect for a dip late at night or in the morning before checking out.
There are also sunbeds for sunbathing, all at no extra cost or obnoxious resort fees, and a bar open on and off throughout the day.
A 24-hour gym is also available.
Breakfast
These hotels offer the Free breakfast to all guests who have Platinum status or higher, because I remember it free breakfast in Marriotts is not a linear benefit as it is in other chains.
Average offering, let's say without infamy or praise.
In conclusion
If you are looking for a hotel near the airport where you can spend little and accumulate points is a perfect solution, for all other stays in the spring break capital better to go elsewhere.
Pro
- The pool is pleasant
- Breakfast is within the norm
Against
- Nothing to report
