Review Garden Inn Saket in New Deli

Small premise, this stay was just a pit stop between two flights, I didn't go around the capital of India, and I'm not even clear on how cool or uncool the location was.

Reservation

Having already set aside enough stays in Marriott in this 2024 I also began to accumulate the nights needed to renew my status in Hilton Honors. Sadly, the world's second largest chain does not have many hotels in the city, in fact there are only three, I chose this one because trivially it was the cheapest one on the night I was interested in.

I made the reservation via app, taking advantage of the corporate program and also putting 500 extra points in my pocket, and also getting the Bonus points provided by the summer promo.

The cost of the night was just over 10 thousand rupees, about 110 euros In local currency.

Location

We are in the Saket neighborhood, about 40 minutes in traffic from New Deli airport, the cost of the Uber ride was just under 600 rupees, Pay via app and only via app. Beware of scams.

The hotel is incorporated into a huge shopping center, which if you get there on a Sunday, as in my case, is like being on a train to Mumbai.

Check-in

When I arrived, I had to put my luggage in the scanner and go through the metal detector, not an uncommon thing in this part of the world. There have been attacks in the past, so the alert is always high, although I wonder what they are looking for since they never stop anyone.

I arrived late at night, flights from Europe all arrive more or less at midnight, so getting to the hotel before 2 a.m. is a mirage.

Garden Inn is a 3-star sign, although. often in Asia, these signs provide pleasant surprises. In this case, however, it was what I expected.

The room

The structure is a 6-story cube with the rooms overlooking the business park and surrounding buildings, which was fine with me and I got the view of the mall park.

My room, number 505, was the usual room, you choose a chain because you want to be assured of service, sure you can spend a lot less, but then you can't know what you're going to get, whereas if you choose a chain you know there is a standard that has to be met.

King bed, spacious room. TV screen and small sofa. For a night, indeed for a few hours of sleep it was more than fine.

Bathroom more modern than I expected and complete with everything.

Very good mattress, but pillows too soft.

Few frills, but there is everything that is required of a hotel in this category.

Also welcome treats waiting for me on the coffee table.

Services

There is a small gym, which they were cleaning when I stopped by, and a nice pool. Great for cooling off from the heat outside. Nice (non-winning) solution to protect oneself from seagulls and pigeons.

Breakfast

I did not have high expectations or even a great appetite, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the offerings.

There was a lot of local cuisine, but also Western dishes, and an express cuisine not found in all Garden Inn.

Of course it's not a 5-star, so you can't expect fresh squeezed juices and gourmet dishes, but there really was everything, even pizza.

In conclusion

It is not far from some of the classic city tour locations and the advantage of being cheap and Having a shopping center connected with the dining hall is no small benefit both for eating something without going too far and for families who also need to let the children relax.
