After the face boarding, another technological tool lands in the two Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports with the aim of Make the airport experience less stressful, more pleasant, and, in the event, more expeditious.
In this article:
It is called Pocket Flight and it is a real-time flight information service introduced by SEA Milan Airports in collaboration with AirportLabs, a company specializing in technology solutions aimed at improving airport operations and performance and the passenger experience.
Of course, There are screens at airports showing flight times and any delays, the desks where to check in and the boarding gate, and signal when boarding is open. But they are not everywhere and therefore at all times consultable, as is the smartphone in our pocket instead.
So if you're at the airport, you've checked in, and you're wondering if you'll have time to take a tour of the duty free shop or have a snack in the lounge, with Pocket Flight you will only need to glance at your cell phone to get the situation in real time relative to the time it takes to reach the gate from the point in the airport where you are, even taking into account any waiting time at security and or immigration.
PocketFlight is not an app, which must be downloaded and installed on the phone. In fact, to activate it, simply scan the QR code on the ticket, accessing a full page with flight details, choosing to receive notifications in real time.
"With its passenger-focused features and seamless integration with existing airport systems, Pocket Flights succeeds in improving passenger flow while maximizing the airport's nonaeronautical revenues, thus supporting the airports' positioning as innovative leaders in the industry," Bianca Fagaras, product manager of Pocket Flights at AirportLabs, explained in a SEA note.
Of course, the service is aimed at those who, in anticipation of their flight, intend to fully enjoy the airport experience. But who knows, maybe it will also help those who show up at the gate, queuing and standing, half an hour before the official boarding time to take it a little easier and spend that half hour of their lives in a different, certainly more pleasant way?
