As of June 1, new regulations for leisure travel to Thailand went into effect. If bureaucracy-free travel for Italian passport holders was already "visa free" now long stays become even easier as the period of stay allowed increases from 30 to 60 days.

If until now those who wanted to stay longer than 30 days were forced into so-called "Visa Runs" i.e., travel outside the Kingdom's borders only and only to reset the meter and start again with 30 days, which is very feasible thanks to the many low-cost and myriad destinations possible from Thailand's many airports.

Perfect timing since since the July 1 direct connection to Thailand restarts, the direct flight between Italy and Bangkok has been missing since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Now the problem is reduced since upon arrival in Thailand those with Italian passports, along with 68 other countries, will get 60 days of unrestricted entry for tourism and beyond.
