ACI Europe awards Rome-Fiumicino airport as Europe's best airport (for the sixth time)

Rome-Fiumicino Airport continues to get accolades upon accolades. The latest, in order of time, is the one as best in Europe (obtained ex-aequo with the new iGA Istanbul Airport) in the category of airports with traffic of more than 40 million passengers: it is the sixth time, in the past seven years, that Fiumicino receives this important achievement. 

Awarding the prestigious prize was the international association ACI Europe, the Airport Council International, during the general assembly held in the Turkish city itself: an independent jury composed of six prominent personalities from the institutional and technical world working in the aviation sector was in charge of the evaluations. 

The evaluation criteria included recognition of "Leonardo Da Vinci's" commitment to the operations and in the customer experience; lo Development of new "green" infrastructure as well as the Capital Airport's commitment as "careport" in promoting an airport that cares as much about people as it does about the local area. Finally, thanks to major investments in the most innovative technologies to improve both the safety, efficiency and environmental impact of its processes, Fiumicino was also awarded the "Digital Transformation Award": ACI recognized the commitment to digitization and promoting innovation, the purpose of which is to provide a high-quality traveler airport experience.
