The Farnborough Air Show 2024 is drawing to a close: these are the last hours to do business. While the two giants Airbus and Boeing recorded several aircraft orders on the first two days of the show, there were relatively few orders between yesterday and today.
In this article:
Air Tahiti, yesterday, ordered 4 ATR 72-600, scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2028; the company also entered into a Global Maintenance Agreement. Air Tahiti currently has a fleet of 11 aircraft 'made in Blagnac': 9 ATR 72-600s and 2 ATR 42-600s.
Earlier today, however, Airbus received a maxi order of 90 aircraft by flynas, a low-cost airline based in Riyadh: 75 A320 family aircraft e 15 A330-900, the latter configured in two classes of service and powered by the latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines. That of flynas is Airbus' largest order received during the Farnborough Air Show 2024. Delivery dates have not been specified.
To date, flynas flies a fleet of 64 aircraft, consisting of 60 Airbus A320s (47 in the 'neo' variant and 13 in the 'ceo' version) and 4 A330-300s.
Doing a quick calculation, in the days of the Farnborough Air Show 2024, Boeing won orders for 96 aircraft (plus 22 options): 30 B787 Dreamliner (in -900 and -1000 variants), 40 B777X and 22 B737 (-800 and MAX). Airbus, instead, received a total of 139 orders: 119 are single-aisle aircraft, while the remaining 44 are wide-body aircraft; ATR, finally, received a single order of 4 aircraft.
