Terminal 5 at London Heathrow is the home of British Airways. In the central body, the one at the A gates, there are all the major lounges from the Concorde Room to the various Galleries, however, there are also the two satellites and travel can take quite some time, so BA has a lounge in each terminal.
Access
In this article:
While there are two independent lounges in the main body, both of which are accessible to Priority Pass holders, the rest of T5 has only British Airwyas lounges accessed by ticket or by status, in the executive club, or in a oneWorld company.
There is no distinction here, the doors open for everyone indiscriminately, all you need is Silver status or a business class ticket or higher.
Location
We are on the level above the gate level. Satellites B and C are less stocked than the main one; there are no big stores or variety of dining options here, in fact there is very little.
The lounge
BA fully renovated this lounge at the end of 2023 And you can see that a very good job has been done. The hall is large, but of course it can be definitely crowded.
There are classic solutions, found in all BA lounges, and other news items such as the Whispering Angel bar a new feature recently introduced in some halls.
The room is divided into two, in the middle is the reception area and on the opposite side is the lounge food and wine area.
In the center are the iconic islands dedicated to drinks, which are always very generous, and then we have at one end the bar area with automatic machines and on the opposite side the buffet area with also an area where dishes are prepared on the spot.
There are many lounging areas, and I appreciated the new decor, which is more modern, elegant, and functional. Of course gone are the QRs that in the covid era allowed people to order food in the absence of the buffet.
There is also a small Kids Zone, with some games, colorful floor and a PS5. If you want to give your kids a real FF T-shirt. you can order it in our store.
Food & Beverage
Here as mentioned everything has changed. Not only a quality buffet, but also lots of choice and a bakery where sandwiches and other freshly prepared dishes are finished.
There is everything from savory to sweet, from hot to cold. Sure It is not on par with the lounges in Pier A, but it is close.
Very scenic is the Whispering Angel bar, with bottles that are elements of décor, but also available for guests to enjoy.
There is also a refrigerator with ice creams, although when we stopped by it was practically empty and of the 4 flavors there were only vanilla and a couple of chocolate cups.
What is never lacking in BA's lounges is drinking, one may die of hunger but certainly not of thirst. Alcohol, soft drinks and beverages. The only flaw is that there is no barista, only automatic coffee and cappuccino machines.
In conclusion
Sure if you have a lot of time to spend at the airport I recommend going to the main block of terminal 5, but given that if you arrive on one of the T5 piers and depart from B or C you can avoid re-checking by simply avoiding going into the main terminal, and then take the little train back to the two satellites then it is a really good service that BA offers.
