Good news for all those who, after the summer, will be flying aboard the Delta in transatlantic routes between Europe and the US: the star carrier intends to gradually equip its entire long-haul fleet with fast wi-fi; even more interesting is the fact that it will be free for all passengers in all classes (you only need to be enrolled in SkyMiles, Delta's loyalty program, to take advantage of it).

Delta has initially equipped its short- and medium-haul fleet with wi-fi connectivity: most of the Airbuses in the A320 family-including many of the new A220s as well-along with the Boeing 737 and 757 are equipped with internet connectivity.
Now, however - noticing how 'crowded' the Transatlantic routes from the Old Continent to the U.S., and vice versa--the Atlanta-based carrier has decided to 'turbocharge': "right now the goal is to equip our long-haul fleet," said Delta CEO Ed Bastian, "wi-fi will be well in place on most transatlantic routes by the end of summer, in the next couple of months.

It has been since early 2023 that the company has been working to equip all its aircraft with fast, free wi-fi: however, there have been problems with satellite coverage and consequently delays, so the service will be available throughout the fleet not before 2025.
