On the day Thai Airways reignites its direct connection from Milan Malpensa to Bangkok, also comes the official announcement by ITA Airways of the opening of the connection from Rome Fiumicino to the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, in what is by far the first new long-haul route announced by ITA Airways in over a year.

ITA Airways direct flight to Bangkok
The flight is currently on sale for the entire winter period, that is, from November 16 to March 26. Flight AZ758 departs Fiumicino at 3:15 p.m. and arrives in BKK at 7:40 a.m., a perfect time for those who might be taking a flight to one of Thailand's many tourist destinations such as Phuket or Koh Samui. The flight from Suvarnabhumi takes off at 12:15 p.m. and arrives at Fiumicino around 7 p.m., a perfect time to catch connections to the rest of ITA's Italian network.
The flight will be operated with the A330/900neo, which is the most modern machine among those in ITA Airways' fleet and equipped with the three cabins: business, premium and economy.
Very competitive prices
The route to Thailand is one of the busiest outbound routes from Italy, ITA Airways is not only competing against Thai which is the only other direct flight from Italy, but also and especially against companies such as Emirates, Qatar and Turkish Airlines which are the ones carrying the largest number of passengers to the East. Economy prices start at €629 per round trip including checked baggage.
In conclusion
Those who read TFC have realized that Thailand is my favorite destination, the idea that AZ chose this destination in Asia and not Seoul where Alitalia flew before the bankruptcy or a destination in China where it currently would not be competitive makes me really happy. It's just too bad that it won't fly there with the A350/900 it would have been a perfect opportunity to Try the new premium economy.
