Madrid airport consists of 4 terminals, but in fact they are two buildings.
In this article:
The newest is the T4, the home of Iberia. and oneworld carriers. All other carriers, however, operate from terminals 1/2/3, which are one building.
Location
This lounge is definitely hidden, or rather the entrance is hardly visible, because it is on the upper floor and the elevator or stairs to access this room is not very easy to see.
Access
In Spain all airports are publicly operated and so do independent lounges.
These lounges have an agreement with all carriers flying from this airport and are also accessible with cards such as priority passes and the like.
I got in well in advance of my business class flight with LOT and had no problem even though it was 5 hours before my flight.
During the day, however, it filled up and when I came out there was restricted access, the thing that surprised me is that no distinction is made between premium passenger or priority pass, in other similar situations I have always noticed a fast track for those with status.
The lounge
After visiting several of those run by Aena I begin to notice the unique hand that operates. There is a trait de union in terms of decor, food offerings, and generally the mood within.
This room is a very large open space, with only a small area more isolated by walls.
It overlooks the runway and this is the most interesting aspect architecturally. Lots of light and a chance to admire the movements on the runway.
Lots of different kinds of seating: armchairs, small chairs, coffee tables, and high table stations.
On the side opposite the entrance is a small work area, where there are office chairs and tables to work at with access to power outlets.
On the opposite side of the window is the food area, which I must say is large and well stocked. I arrived that there was still the breakfast offering and stayed until lunch was served.
Slightly hidden, but not even that much there is a relaxation area with small chairs where you can lie down and take a nap.
The flaw is definitely the toilet/shower issue. It is a lounge that can accommodate more than 150 people at once, and there are two very small bathrooms and only two showers.
Food & Beverage
Savory snacks and a refrigerator with sandwiches and yogurt always stocked, a small buffet area with fomarggi and cold cuts. For breakfast there were croissants and sandwiches, no hot proposal. For lunch, no buffet, but Monoportions of very interesting dishes. Really a very good gastronomic proposal. With a menu and even two desserts.
As in all lounges in Spain also notable is the proposal of drinks, alcoholic and not, h24
In conclusion
Full suffice, too bad about the bathrooms which are really too few for a room of this size. Free wifi and really performs well.
Pro
- Runway view
- Gastronomic proposal
Against
- Two bathrooms are too few for the size of this lounge
- Hard to find
