Today, 22 years later, the Irish low-cost carrier has grown quite a bit at BGY, its main hub in Italy: they are 23 aircraft based to Orio al Serio and well 116 destinations offered during summer '24 (for a total of 1,800 flights each week) including the 8 new routes to Beni Mellal, Biarritz, Castellón, Dubrovnik, Olbia, Sarajevo, Skiathos and the brand new flight to Salerno.
"The milestone of 140 million passengers transported to and from Milan Bergamo Airport tells the story of a successful partnership, which has allowed us to offer the air transport market a business and operational model that has become a reference for airport managers and travelers. A great result, the one achieved by Ryanair, to which we are proud to have contributed more than others, because it goes hand in hand with the investment programs that SACBO has produced over two decades to make the airport and service infrastructures state-of-the-art, in terms of systems and technology, and increasingly adequate to the needs of operators and passengers," explained John Sanga, President of SACBO, the company that manages the Milan-Bergamo airport.
