China Eastern debuts in Venice on September 26. Direct flights from Malpensa to Xi'an also kick off.

To date there are 5Â the Chinese companies connecting Italy and the Dragon Country with a direct flight: Air China, China Southern, China Eastern, Sichuan Airlines and Hainan Airlines. Only two, however, are the Italian airports where these five carriers fly: Milan-Malpensa e Rome-Fiumicino.

From the Varese airport it is possible to fly to Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu with Air China and to Chongqing and Shenzen with Hainan Airlines; from the Capital, on the other hand, one can fly to Shanghai with China Eastern, to Beijing with Air China, to Guangzhou with China Southern, to Chengdu with Sichuan Airlines, and to Chongqing and Shenzen with Hainan Airlines. Starting in September, however, another airport will be added to the list of airports offering direct connections to China: As we anticipated a few weeks ago, China Eastern will make its debut at Venice's "Marco Polo".Â
From Sept. 26 direct flights will depart between Shanghai (PVG) e Venice: will be 3 per week (every Monday, Thursday and Saturday) and will be operated with a Airbus A330-200 set up in two classes, business and economy class. Departure of flight MU785 from Shanghai is scheduled at 00:50 a.m. (local time), while arrival in the lagoon is at 07:50 a.m.; on the reverse leg, however, it will take off from Venice at 11:30 a.m. and arrive in Shanghai (PVG) at 05:30 a.m. the next day (local time).
The news didn't end there: from 26/09 China Eastern will also kick off direct flights between Xi'an (XIY) and Milan (MXP): you will fly 3 times a week -- on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays -- aboard one of he Airbus A330-200s outfitted with two cabins, business and economy class.
Flight MU5013 will take off from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 2:40 p.m. and land at MXP at 7:30 p.m. (local time); flight MU5014 will depart for China at 9:30 p.m. and touch down at Xi'An runway at 2 p.m. the next day (local time).
