Emirates' 'no-nonsense' video, Austrian's 'miniature' video, and Delta's 'relaxing' video: here are the airlines' latest safety videos

If you travel almost exclusively on short- or medium-haul routes, you probably don't have the faintest idea what security videos are: the "SAFETY VIDEO", to put it in English, are nothing more than films in which passengers are shown the security procedures.
In this article:
If they used to consist of decidedly boring and unattractive animations, today, on the contrary, some safety videos are real masterpieces signed, at times, even by world-renowned directors.
Emirates: the "no-nonsense" security video.
"If you are expecting dancers, movie stars and singers, you can find them in our in-flight entertainment system. We take your safety seriously, so here is our updated, no-frills safety video for your next Emirates flight," the emirate company presents his new security video in this way; a few turns of phrase, few frills, straight to the point.
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
In the film, two flight attendants take turns showing passengers how and where to store their belongings as well as all safety instructions.
Lufthansa: new cabins, new safety video
The German carrier, in conjunction with the launch of the new Allegris cabins, has spruced up its security video. It is not as 'serious' as Emirates' but neither is it as memorable as, say, that of ITA Airways: the new video by Lufthansa is, however, undoubtedly fresher than its predecessor (which has remained the same for a decade or so).
The new film-which lasts 7 minutes and will be progressively rolled out across the German company's long-haul fleet-was not filmed (as is happening more and more often) inside an aircraft: the video shows people going on a journey, from the moment they leave their home until they arrive at their destination.
Austrian: the new video is 'in miniature'
More striking, however, is the new video by Austrian Airlines, launched at the same time as the introduction of new Boeing 787 'Dreamliner' aircraft into the Austrian carrier's fleet.
The 4-minute film will be enjoyed not only by adult travelers but also by young children: the setting, in fact, is that of a miniature world, in which all safety instructions are shown; finally, the video also celebrates the Austrian culture.
Delta: the watchword is relaxation
In a word: relaxing. Granted, it was not filmed inside an airplane; despite this, however, it is not bad at all. The protagonist of the security video by Delta is a flight attendant who, in what looks like a resort, explains to passengers/vacationers all the safety procedures to be followed in flight.
I repeat: I, personally, liked it. However, this latest film divided (and not a little) web users and passengers: some found it enjoyable and relaxing; others, however, called it "cringey," embarrassing. De gustibus non est disputandum.
Hawaiian: new (beautiful) film celebrates culture
Also Hawaiian, as Austrian, with the introduction of the new Boeing 787-9 in its fleet, decided to launch a new safety video.
A 7-minute journey that not only shows us safety instructions but makes us appreciate-before arriving at our destination-. the beauty of Hawaii (in fact, the four main islands, Oʻahu, Maui, Hawai'i Island, and Kauaʻi, are shown) and also allows us to breathe in no small amount of local culture.
