Happy end!!! That's why Asia is a paradise (and the hotel chains are a guarantee )

Today I want to relate what just happened to me, because everyone can happen to forget something in the hotel, on the plane or in the lounge. Fortunately over the years, despite the fact that when I travel I always have dozens of devices around, I have sown little stuff around.
In this article:

I left a pair of glasses in a lounge in Cairo, Egypt., but the thing I forget most often is thepower supply attached to the power outlet By the bed.
Last time it happened to me at Bangkok at the Marriott Marquis, fortunately I had not left, but as my usual I had only changed hotels, so I promptly retrieved it. On the plane I once left my wallet And once it fell out of my pants. In both cases, thanks to the crew, I always managed to get my averei back almost immediately.
What happened to me today, however, had never happened to me. and that's why I want to recount it to emphasize the fact of how corporate policies (and local culture) make a difference.
The facts
February, In the course of my world tour, I lost an external HD. No bitcoin or cryptocurrency inside, but valuable videos yet to be edited. As I tell often the videos come out even 6 months after the actual flight, so I often have material still to be cataloged behind and I use just the downtime between flights to make order.

I tried to reconstruct where I had been able to lose it, and I was convinced that the place was the Vietnam Airlines lounges in Ho Chi Min.
Here I remembered downloading footage and doing some work, while I was waiting to depart for Phnom Pehn. Of the lack of HD, however, I only realized it once home, about 5 days later. I contacted, with difficulty VN, but with no luck and so I was now resigned.
Lighting
Yesterday, as I was landing in the capital of Cambodia a light bulb went on and I remembered that in the 38h I spent in the city, I had tidied up my backpack and so I thought, "What if I had left it at the hotel?"
So this morning I took a tuktuk, and from the Fairfield where I stay. I went to the Courtyard where I had stayed. I asked about the manager and explained what had happened. Actually, I didn't have much hope, but I had nothing to lose anyway. I left my information and went around the city.
The message on whatsapp
Mid-afternoon, I was inside a Starbucks in front of the Mekong cooling off after a day out and about in the heat and thunderstorms, when I received this message from the hotel manager

I had also practically forgotten that I was waiting for an answer, when there it was my HD in the picture and the message from the manager.

Happy as a child after yet another tuktuk ride. (which for the record here in Cambodia are quiet and calm compared to Thai ones) I arrived back at the Courtyard.
Upon my arrival a receptionist, after talking to the manager gave me a bag with the "proof" of the find and my HD in it. Almost 6 months later it was still stored in the "lost&found" section of the hotel.
In conclusion
I doubt that six months later I would have found this type of object in any other corner of the world, of course maybe ignorance about the type of object may also have played a role, maybe with a pair of glasses or an umbrella it would not have happened, but in any case it is good to know that one can still hope to live in an honest world.
Have you ever found something you forgot while traveling? Tell me about it in the comments
