Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but I must say that the global promotion launched by Marriott is really unattractive and of little significance, at least to us Italians.
Marriott Bonvoy's new promotion for fall 2024
In this article:
Members can earn 2,000 Bonvoy bonus points for any stay of two nights or more at any property in the world. Basically for 99 out of 100 Italians the promotion ends here since to trigger the additional bonuses you have to:
- Stay at MGM Collection facilities to earn, again by staying a minimum of two nights, an additional 2,000 bonus points
- If you have a co-branded Marriott credit card, which do not exist in Italy, you get an additional 2,000 points for the usual two-night stay.
Important not every two nights stayed, but every stay of two consecutive nights in the same hotel.
The best bonuses
The promotion is valid for stays between September 10 and November 26, 2024, but must register by November 12. I remind you that the promo is triggered regardless of when they are booked, i.e. if you have stays already scheduled you don't need to do anything, you activate the promo and you will get the extra points.
There is no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn (other than the limit on how many nights you can stay), but award nights and Cash + Points nights do not generate bonus points, so only bookings paid cash.
Reflections on this Marriott Bonvoy promotion.
I currently cannot activate it, because I don't see it in my promo list. I have no idea why, since it is not an ad personam offer, as Bonvoy often does, I currently have a challenge that gives me 15k bonus points every 5 stays, other readers wrote to me about receiving a new promo double qualifying nights.
In any case it is really poor. Let's say it only makes happy those who make low-price two-night stays, because in this case the 2,000 points make themselves felt in the total bill. If we then add that MGM Collection facilities are only in the U.S. (Las Vegas and Atlantic City) and that there are no Marriott credit cards in Italy here is not much tripe for us Italians.
In the case I recall that booking through the Stars&Luminous program. you get the promotion and bonuses and better treatment, without spending an extra euro and getting free breakfast, credit to spend at the facility and much more.
