Emirates' first Boeing 777 with a renovated interior will take off for Geneva this afternoon as EK 83. The aircraft took a total of 37 days for a complete refurbishment and will come into service four days ahead of schedule.

In a videotimelapse, the company shows how the transformation of the first of more than 80 "triple 7s" that will undergo the makeover came about.
The following were needed to complete this lyfting: 300 liters of paint, 330 square meters of carpet, 340 laminated sheets, 750 square meters of leather for First, Business and Premium Economy Class seats. 800 meters of fabric were used to upholster the economy seats.
Emirates' new business class is not what I hoped for
I had written this in my article in recent days, the phrases used to announce the debut of this new cabin were sibylline, and in the end the product installed on these planes is pretty much the same as what is on the A380s, definitely better than what is offered on these planes today by the Emirates airline, but not fashionable and much less innovative than what the competition offers its passengers.
With 38 chairs in a 1-2-1 configuration, each seat has a width of more than 52 cm and converts into a bed almost 2m long. Each seat is equipped with a personal minibar, a table for eating or working, plus charging sockets for personal devices and more. The seat's touch screen controller for in-flight entertainment and operation and one 23-inch personal HD screen, one of the largest in the skies, ensure that every customer can fully enjoy the airline's award-winning Ice entertainment system.
Cabin colors, leathers, and details are those on board the A380s that are being upgraded and are also receiving installation of the premium economy cabin.
Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline said, "Emirates continues its commitment to deliver an unparalleled onboard experience with the introduction of our latest Boeing 777 with exclusive new interiors, elevating the industry benchmark when it comes to premium travel. Our latest Business Class cabin offers customers a sense of exclusivity and privacy, complemented by our suite of best-in-class in-flight amenities. The addition of our popular Premium Economy cabin, ranked as one of the best in the industry, injects a modern sophistication to the in-flight experience and is carefully designed for added comfort. With more Boeing 777s and A380s refurbished to sport our latest in-flight products, customers can consistently have the best experiences in the sky on both types of aircraft."
No bulkhead, much less door that isolates the passenger from the aisle, it is clear that this chair is not a fashionable product. Emirates therefore preferred the safe used and to a consistency of product across the fleet, instead of innovating and following what all the other companies have launched or plan to launch. I'm not just talking about Qatar and its QSuite., but also of Etihad Studios to remain in the Middle East region.
The Business Class cabin of Emirates' Boeing 777 will also include a small bar for customers to quickly grab snacks and drinks mid-flight-this may be the only real new feature on board, but at this point I believe there will be nothing like Virgin Atlantic's The Loft and it will be a more finished galley, but To be sure, I have to wait until I get on board next Sunday.
Boeing 777 restyling, Emirates will also offer premium economy
Emirates' Boeing 777 entered a refurbishment phase in early July, with a planned reconfiguration of the aircraft to make way for a New Premium Economy cabin consisting of 24 seats arranged in three rows in a 2-4-2 arrangement side by side. Again, there is a clear desire to offer a product similar in every way to that found on the giant made Airbus.
Cream-colored leather seats, classic wood trim throughout the cabin, with a seat spacing of just under a meter, seats nearly half a meter wide with a generous tilt, and headrests adjustable in 6 directions.
My take on this Emirates redesign.
Solid certainties not dreams, I think you can summarize this operation as follows. EK had not anticipated anything because there was nothing to be revealed, the product is what is already flying today and has been flying A380s for years, with minor adjustments and with today's technology.
.
Of course it is a major step forward, but it is obvious that we all expected from a company like Emirates a new, modern, fashionable product. The lack of the door, the lack of privacy is really something that the new cabins we've seen in recent years have eliminated.
