First time for me in Hungary, one of the few EU countries where I had never even crawled through.
In this article:
A layover that should have lasted just under 90 minutes and that due to a delay lasted a long, long time, too long, but fortunately in addition to this lounge I discovered other interesting places, such as the outdoor Biergarten, which allowed me to have a beer with a spatial view and a fabulous sunset (for me being an AVgeek.
Location
This lounge, like the other 2 in the airport's Schengen area, is located on the upper floor, is the last one before the door leading to the smoking terrace, and in summer periods also houses a beautiful beer garden with a runway view.
Access
Like all Plaza Premium access is free for all American Express Platinum holders and priority pass holders, which are then almost the same thing. It also has agreements with some carriers, but I have not investigated that much more.
The lounge
It's not the smallest lounge I've ever visited, that's in Chiang Mai in Thailand, but It's up against the premium plaza in Jeddah. with which it has much in common beyond branding.
It is a square, small and overlooking the walkway of the airport's outdoor terrace. With a capacity of 50 people, scarce, I was surprised to find no queue given how crowded the airport was Of the Hungarian capital.
Light-colored furnishings, faux wood floor and glass wall opposite the terrace make the whole environment clear and relaxing, of course you cannot expect more than a seat and little more.
The best seats are the ones with the stools on the glass side, and they are also the only ones with power outlets, otherwise the other seats are without anything. Despite many departing flights after 8 p.m., the lounge closes, which is really inexplicable, and passengers are escorted to the door, politely, but nonetheless asked to leave.
Dulcis in fundo. It's so small that there aren't even bathrooms, and the terminal bathrooms are on the opposite side from where the lounge is.
Food & Beverage
Opposite the entrance wall is the food area. A small buffet, but it could not be otherwise, with hot proposition (Gulash) snacks and sandwiches. For its size, there is almost too much.
Then there is a refrigerator with drinks and a corner with snacks and what appear to be breakfast leftovers.
There is a water fountain to fill your water bottle and an express hot drink machine.
In conclusion
For the name it bears I would have expected something more, Of course we are not in New York, but not even having bathrooms and having to go through half the airport to get there is definitely not PP.

Pro
- The view
