As of today, SAS, or Scandinavian Airlines, is a Skyteam member for all intents and purposes.
In this article:
As of today FFs with Elite Eurobonus status need to change their habits and learn who the new partners are, In recent months the Scandinavian carrier has been very good at communicating all changes with full transparency, at least until now.
Devaluation for partner tickets effective immediately
No announcement, no warning that this devaluation of points was coming. This happens when a frequent flyer program increases the value of the points required to book a ticket, thereby reducing the value of the points themselves.
Unfortunately SAS has not been as transparent in this case, no message that it would happen and today members are faced with a fait accompli.
The devaluation of Eurobonus points
The loyalty program is SAS is based on a fixed award chart based on destination and cabin, an "ancient" way for point accumulators to know, with certainty, how many points they need for a given ticket.
The string announcing the change is inserted in the T&Cs, as usual in small print relative to the rest of the text on a page.
As you can read in the text I highlighted on the award ticket page, if you redeem a flight on Air Europa, China Airlines, or Vietnam Airlines you have to multiply X2 the amount of Eurobonus points required.
Let's say. if a good day is seen in the morning, it is not a good sign.
