Looking forward to launching non-stop flights between its Istanbul hub and Australia when it receives A350-1000s (part of An order placed with Airbus for a total of 220 aircraft), Turkish Airlines puts two feet in the land of kangaroos, adding to the connection with Melbourne (left last March) the one with Sydney.

Flights to Australia's most populous city. will start next Dec. 4 with four weekly frequencies via Kuala Lumpur operated by Airbus A350-900. As in the case of those to Melbourne, which stop over in Singapore, those to Sydney also Will operate under a 'fifth freedom' regime, so it will only be possible to book the Istanbul-Kuala Lumpur or the Kuala Lumpur-Sydney (and vice versa, of course).
From Istanbul Turkish will take off every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 3:15 p.m. to land in Malaysia's capital at 6:20 a.m. the next morning. From Kuala Lumpur, the A350 will take off again at 7:40 a.m. to land in Sydney at 6:30 p.m.
In the reverse direction, departures are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 8:40 p.m. with arrival in KL at 1:55 a.m. the next day, departure at 3:55 a.m. and arrival in Istanbul at 10:15 a.m.
Turkish's A350s are. configured in two classes, with 32 or 28 seats in Business (1-2-1) and 297 or 288 seats in Economy (2-4-2).
With the addition of the connection to Sydney, Turkish will have from December 4 a daily flight between Istanbul and Australia, since theIstanbul-Singapore-Melbourne is flown three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, again by Airbus A350-900.
