United also chooses Starlink for in-flight connectivity: first planes equipped with fast wi-fi will fly by 2025

"Everything you can do on the ground, you will soon be able to do on board a United aircraft at 35,000 feet, almost anywhere in the world. This connectivity opens the door for an even better in-flight entertainment experience," with these words Scott Kirby, CEO of United, announced the agreement with Starlink.

United's plan is to equip one thousand aircraft, including regional jets and medium- to long-range aircraft, with Starlink wi-fi initially: the first tests are expected to begin early next year, while the first flights to be equipped with fast wi-fi are expected to take off by the end of '25; after which, if all goes as it should, United will equip the rest of the fleet with the new connectivity over the next few years.
