The two cargo flights last March had raised the hopes of so many travelers: now we can say that hopes were not dashed. As of July 1, 2025 Vietnam Airlines will begin to link Milan-Malpensa e Hanoi.
In this article:
Passengers will be provided with 3 flights per week, each Tuesday, Friday e Saturday. Departure from Milan's 'Silvio Berlusconi' is scheduled at 12:30 a.m., while arrival in Hanoi is scheduled for 04:30 a.m. the next day (local time); in the reverse route, takeoff from Noi Bai International Airport will be at 01:00 a.m. and landing at MXP is scheduled for 07:40 a.m. (local time).
Connections between MXP and HAN will be operated with the Boeing 787-9: Vietnam Airlines has 11 in total, eight of which are configured with 3 cabins (business, premium economy, and economy class), while the other three are set up only with business class and tourist class.
Tickets to fly to Hanoi are already available for purchase and prices start at €672.57 (round trip in economy with the 'lite' fare, the cheapest, which includes a 10kg carry-on and a 23kg checked bag).
As is well known, Vietnam Airlines is an airline SkyTeam: this means that you can use Air France/KLM's Flying Blue points, for example, to redeem a prize ticket to Hanoi (paying cash only for taxes). In addition to this, it is good to remember that if you have the status with one of the ST vectors you have quite a few benefits: if you are Club Plus, Premium or Executive with ITA, for example, and you fly with Vietnam Airlines you will be entitled to a additional baggage (by 10kg if you have Plus status, by 20kg if you have Premium status), priority check-in and boarding And dedicated line for baggage drop-off.
