Thirteen Boeing. One after the other between 737-800, -700 and -400, following a pattern typical of low-cost airlines from halfway around the world (Southwest and Ryanair leading the way) that adore the twin-engine American aircraft.

Aeroitalia, which, let us remember, is not a low-cost but, if anything, a hybrid considering Flank high-density aircraft configurations with an on-board complimentary beverage service, has been going on like this for over two years, since that July 9, 2022 in which he made his first flight.
Flanking the 737s only with the ATR-72 turboprop first in wetlease and then as owner of Romanian carrier Air Connect (aircraft that, together with two Boeing 737-400s, are registered as Aeroitalia regional).
Then, all of a sudden, here pops up an Airbus. An A319, to be precise, to interrupt the sequence of Boeing 737s. The first photo of the aircraft appeared on the Italian airline's Instagram profile accompanied by the message "A new aircraft joins the Aeroitalia fleet: the Airbus A319! Welcome to 9H-ZAG!"
The Flight Club caught up with the carrier's CEO, Gaetano Intrieri, who explained that "it is a wetlease", that is, of an airplane (in full Aeroitalia livery, as seen in the photo) that arrived with a full crew from Fly Air41 Airways, a Croatian company that is part of the German Sundair Group.
The A319 entered the fleet with Aeroitalia Has a cabin configured with 144 seats in all-Economy and is 16 and a half years old, which is about three years younger than the average age of the Italian carrier's aircraft, which is nearly 20 years. Previously, he spent most of his operational life with Iberia (2008 to 2021), before two short stints with Sundair and Fly Air41 Airways.
Intrieri pointed out that the wetlease "will last through Winter 2024-2025, waiting for the other 737s we have ordered to arrive, which are expected in spring 2025″.
Aeroitalia has recently Won the tender for territorial continuity with Sardinia on routes between Milan, Cagliari and Olbia and for next March 22 announced the start of connections between Rome Fiumicino and the Polish city of Lublin, its fourth international destination after Bucharest and Bacau in Romania and Tunis, which will start in December (with flights from Rome Fiumicino and Catania).
