Stockholm airport is big, much bigger than you might imagine. There are 5 terminals and the distances are really large.
In this article:
The presence of Amex is noticeable everywhere. The advertisements in the outdoor areas, those on the fingers and then for the presence of a lounge, the only one in continental Europe, since only in the UK, more specifically. in London there is a lounge owned by Amex.
Location
Meet us at terminal 5, but considering that it is possible to move between terminals even once you have passed the controls Is also accessible, if you have time, to those departing from T2 and the like.
The lounge is located in the center of the restaurant area, or rather of what will become the terminal food court from late 2024 and is now still under construction.
It is halfway between F and E gates. In front of Le Giraffe cafe.
Access
Impossible not to notice it since the entrance is (probably) the nicest thing it has, The staircase, but if you prefer there is also a small elevator, leads to the reception area.
Here depending on the card held you are invited to enter the Platinum Lounge or the Centurion.
The lounge
As known, I don't have the "black card" And so I sat in the Platinum one.
The lounge is a dining room with a bar counter in the center.
The environment is nice and neat, but really monotonous. Since it offers nothing but chairs. I arrived a few minutes after opening (5 a.m.) and took a seat at one of the small tables in the center of the room.
The lounge is open to the terminal, but the dark furnishings and upholstery make it really dim. Except for the (unisex) bathrooms and the aforementioned chairs, this American Express Lounge offers nothing else.
Food & beverage
Here I have to say I expected much more, the buffet is embarrassing, in fact already calling it a buffet is an offense.
There are stuffed sandwiches, fruit salad, what looks like yogurt, and brioche. There are no ingredients, no explanation of what's in them.
I asked the attendant if the brioches were sweet or savory and she could not answer me, went somewhere and 5 minutes later came back to tell me they were empty and not savory. I finally got a cappuccino and two brioches and left (sadly) to the definitely nicer and richer SAS Lounge.
When I walked in and saw this kind of setup I imagined that there was an a la carte menu, as happens in some centurions as in Mexico City, instead there was nothing , instead the only card was the cost of premium alcohol.
Ad forgot if you are in a hurry you can opt for a packed breakfast by going directly to La Giraffe which is run by the same group
In conclusion
If it were not called American Express Lounge but was a simple independent lounge it would have been a lesser disappointment and would have received a much higher rating. Aesthetically beautiful but as Pontus Frithiof should know "You eat with your eyes too, but then your stomach must be full.""

Pro
- Aesthetically beautiful
Against
- There is nothing else besides chairs
- Sad buffet
