I frequent flyers around the world must say goodbye to two of the most convenient and useful tools they had.
In this article:
App in the Air, a very functional application that kept track of all flights (and, very importantly, always sent notifications at the right time), and LoungeBuddy, the site will cease to exist next January 16, while the app has already been decommissioned and made it possible to find out the list of the various lounges at a certain airport, but also all the requirements for accessing them; in addition to that, it was also possible to book entry.
Well, as of today Saturday, October 19, App in the Air is officially dead: As Barbone explained in a previous article., users have had time until today to export their data and possibly request a refund.
What are the alternatives to App in the Air? There are not many of them, actually there are only two: one is Tripit, but we at TFC have never used it; the other, however, is. Flighty, which we have been testing for some time now.
Flighty developers are working to enable App in the Air orphans to use the feature import, so you don't lose your own flight history. Flighty, downloadable only on iOS, is a free application; there is, however, also a paid and more feature-rich version.
What about alternatives to LoungeBuddy instead? The app of PriorityPass, undoubtedly, through which one can locate the lounges in airports, all the services offered and the cost of admission.More importantly, the app stores one's digital card with which one can access the various lounges (in case one forgets the physical card at home).
However, it is certainly not complete since the lounges that do not belong to the PP network cannot be identified, except in the old way i.e., by following the signs at the airport.
