Sunday, October 27, at 08:20 a.m., took off from Salerno the first flight operated by Wizz Air to Tirana, thus marking the start of operations of the Hungarian carrier at the Amalfi Coast airport.

Yesterday, Monday, Oct. 28, the Salerno-Budapest, anticipated by a very short ceremony: after the ribbon cutting, the plane took off for the Hungarian capital.
Finally, today will be the turn of the flight to Bucharest, which is scheduled to take off at 4:37 pm.
"The arrival of a prestigious airline such as Wizz Air is a further demonstration of the attractiveness on international markets of the Campania airport system and the complementarity of the two airports, which represent each other's resource, guaranteeing quality connectivity to the territory. The three destinations, in addition to being unprecedented for the Salerno airport, have the added value of starting during the 'winter' season, generally characterized by a downturn in supply, demonstrating the solidity of the Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi airport and the constant and progressive growth of connections, as the work envisaged by the Development Plan proceeds", commented the CEO of GESAC, Roberto Barbieri.
The Salerno-Tirana route will provide two weekly frequencies, every Wednesday and Sunday: takeoff from QSR is scheduled at 08:15, while arrival in Albania is scheduled for 09:25; on the reverse route, it leaves Tirana at 06:20 and arrives in the Amalfi Coast at 07:40.
3, on the other hand, weekly flights to and from Budapest (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and Bucharest (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). As for the connections to Budapest, on Mondays and Fridays it takes off from Salerno at 1:20 p.m. and arrives in the Hungarian capital at 3:05 p.m., while on Wednesdays the departure from QSR is scheduled for 6:20 p.m. and the arrival in Budapest is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. Finally, as for the Salerno-Bucharest, it will take off at 4:30 p.m. from Salerno and arrive in the Romanian capital at 7:35 p.m.
