For the past few days, but I just found out about it thanks to a tip from a TFC reader, American Express has been running a promotion that allows you to convert Membership Rewards points toward the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program with a bonus of 30%.
Conversion bonus from Membership Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy
In this article:
It was running the year 2022 the last time we saw such a bonus and so this promotion is definitely very interesting since it is not frequent at all.
Until 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 18, 2025, each transfer of Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy will entitle the recipient to a bonus of Marriott Bonvoy points equal to 30% of the transferred Membership Rewards points.
A minimum of 5 Membership Rewards points up to a maximum of 999,995 points (in increments of 5 points or multiples) is required to make a Membership Rewards points transfer to your Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program account.
Please note that Marriott Bonvoy only accepts one point transfer per day. Therefore, multiple transfers on the same day are not possible. Bonus will be visible in your Marriott Bonvoy® account within eight weeks of the close of the initiative and will be credited by Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Bonvoy bonus points do not count toward elite level qualification.
In conclusion
Still active for a few more days is a similar bonus toward Hilton Honors, this is the first time (in my memory) that there is a simultaneous points transfer bonus to both Bonvoy and Honors programs. Now hopefully in 2025 we will also see bonuses toward airlines, stuff (almost) never seen in the last 5 years in Italy.
Thanks to Andrea T for the report.
