The flight, which landed at 08:22 the following day (local time), was operated with one of the Airbus A330neo (brands EI-TYC) in the Italian flag carrier's fleet.
"We are proud to inaugurate our new direct Rome Fiumicino-Bangkok flight, the only direct connection between the two capitals and the fifteenth intercontinental destination in our network. This flight reinforces our business strategy and represents a growth opportunity for our tour operator partners, who consider Thailand one of the most popular destinations internationally. The cargo sector is also already showing significant demand, both in terms of incoming and outgoing, and we are confident that this positive trend will be consolidated in the coming months," commented Emiliana Limosani, chief commercial officer of ITA Airways and CEO of Volare.
The new connection from Rome to Bangkok is operated 5 times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday: departure from FCO is scheduled at 3:15 p.m., while arrival in BKK is at 8:25 a.m. (local time). From Bangkok, however, it takes off every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 12:15 p.m.; arrival in the Italian capital is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. (local time).
It is noteworthy, then, that. Rome-Bangkok will also be operational during the 2025 summer season: As of March 30 next year, in fact, there will be 3 weekly frequencies.
ITA Airways, during the winter, will fly from its hub in Rome (FCO) to 55 destinations: there will be 16 domestic routes, 24 international routes and 15 intercontinental routes.
