TFCbest. The best lounges of 2024 around the world.
What are the best lounges in the world? Here is the ranking according to TFC reviews

Year-end rankings time, I don't have the gall to compare myself to Skytrax or other institutions, but given that This year I have exceeded 140 flights, visited more than 70 airports and flown aboard more than 50 companies I think I can give my honest opinion about the best lounges I have visited around the world.
In this article:
Obviously all the lounges I reviewed can be found on the dedicated home page, to date there are almost 200 on this site.
So here is the 2024 edition of TFCbest devoted to lounges, which are those places where you can eat, drink, sleep and sometimes do strange things like sauna or jacuzzi. Before proceeding A small methodological note:
- I am only talking about halls that I visited during 2024 (which is why, for example, there may not be the same winners as in past years)
- the same lounge cannot win two prizes.
The best lounge in 2024
I don't review the same lounge twice, unless it has changed profoundly and that is why it does not I published the lounge review of La Premiere again this year., but without any doubt, no one comes close to the exclusivity of what Air France offers to its most valuable passengers. If you are curious to see what she offers you can read my first review, knowing that now things have become even more interesting since the This summer, "residences" were added. that is, two apartments where LP passengers can stay while waiting to board in total solitude, always served and revered. Honorable mention, however, to the other two First Class lounges I passed through this year: Cathay Pacific's The Wing in Hong Kong and the Al Safwa in Doha
The best official lounge
Here the title is all about Qatar and its Al Safwa, the lounge exclusively for First Class passengers, or those with Platinum status in the Privilege Club program. It is the exact opposite of La Premiere's Lounge; it is gigantic. There are apartments for those who want to sleep during a very long layover, there is a restaurant with (almost) starred cuisine, the spaces are huge and the services really comprehensive. The only thing missing is the SPA, but for that you just take the golf car and get the Bring in the new wellness area in the Al Mourian hall.
The best official lounge in Europe
I decided to award the SAS Lounge in Copenhagen. Because it is really beautiful, big and rich in content. From the light room, to the lounges, from the Gold area (now Skyteam) to the work areas. Truly a room that can meet the needs of all types of passengers. It passed on the line, of my evaluations, LOT's Polonez Lounge in Warsaw, which was renovated a few weeks ago and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse which Slips in my preferences because of recent changes: no more gymnasium, no more billiard room, but mainly because of the overly restrictive access rules.
The best official lounge (away)
This is a very important category, because it is easy to win at home; it is difficult to triumph far from one's borders. I decided to give the award to the EVA Air lounge in Bangkok., because it's a lounge you don't expect, in an airport where the competition is so high. Nice view of the runway, original décor and impeccable service, in this time to lose on the line were the Cathay Pacific lounge London and, also at Heathrow's T3, the Qantas lounge., but in this case I think it was particularly affected by not being able to take advantage of the restaurant service.
The surprise of 2024
Unbelievable, But the surprise of 2024 comes from the east, from what I think is the worst airport in the world: New Deli. Encalm Privé was really a surprise, bears the same name as one of the worst lounges in the world (which is always in this airport) and would not disfigure in any other airport in the world, indeed in Italy it would win by a landslide the award for best lounge in our country. It surpassed by a hair's breadth the lounge at Juneyao Air to Shanghai Hongqiao and the newest addition to the T1 of JFK, the one that hides the secret To jump the queue at security checkpoints.
The best Priority Pass in the world
During 2024, I entered more than 30 different Priority Pass lounges. around the world, the best and by detachment in my opinion remains the Prime Class in Muscat, Oman, this could easily be a first-class lounge in any other corner of the world. Sports bar, runway view rooms, two restaurants, business lounges, relaxation area, there really is everything. Honorable mention for a lounge in a ghost airport: The Angkor Lounge in Siem Reap airport.
The best lounge priority pass in Europe
The review I published just in the past few days, this lounge confirms how Barcelona to be Europe's best-located airport When it comes to independent lounges. After the Pau Casals who won in past years, and would surely have won again this year if I had not transited from Joan Miró.
There are only beautiful lounges in this airport, which is a very unique thing and should be studied.
The best lounge in Italy
It is the newest one, and in my opinion it deserves the title of the best lounge in our country. E' The Prima Vista Lounge at T3 Fiumicino. In an airport suffering from the crowding of waiting rooms. this lounge is, accomplice to the location, the quietest one, at least the three times I've been there. It passes the hangar lounge of ITA Airways. who had won this ranking last year and is better than the award-winning (by Skytrax) Plaza Premium also in T3.
The best lounge "for those with status"
Ex-aequo award to Finnair with its Platinum Wing from Helsink.i: definitely making an impression is the Sauna and the restaurant, although the menu is not very varied, on the top step of the podium there is also The Wing in Hong Kong First Class's lounge, which provides a starred restaurant and a full-fledged bathroom.
In addition to sharing a common location these two lounges share access rules: you have to be Emerald oneWorld to enter it which is the status that opens the door to First's lounges, although then not quite all of them.
Best Centurion Lounge
Unbelievable, but this year I visited very few Centurion lounge, also because I did not frequent American airports very much. I could award the one at JFK where I passed through on my hunt for a million SAS miles, but instead award the one at the DCA in Washington, mine was not really a review also because it was on the first day of opening, but in an airport like the city airport of the American capital it was really a long-awaited opening.
Best Premium Plaza
This is a worldwide network, with lounges everywhere. My favorite this year was the one in Phnom Phen. Hard to be disappointed with the Plaza Premium, but what it offers at this airport absolutely amazed me. Beautiful, complete and unthinkable in a nation where mass tourism has not yet arrived.
In conclusion
This year my ranking has been enriched with some categories, as happened last year, and I think we have almost reached completeness: I would say that only the best lounge of an alliance is missing, but I have not visited a single lounge in this category this year. Now I await in the comments your preferences or reports of which lounges you would have liked to have seen in this ranking.
