On Wednesday afternoon, December 18, I will begin my third, and final, campaign. to give the Hunt for the million miles put up for grabs by SAS.
In this article:
Online, there are already those celebrating after receiving the confirmation email, but percentage-wise there are many more people who are concerned about for the lack of flight crediting for one, or more, of the 15 required routes, and as of today, I am also short by as many as 2 flights.
What I miss
The frequent flyer forums are full of posts from travelers struggling with accreditation quirks Of the miles in the Eurobonus account. From one side of the world to the other, there are hundreds of users who have completed the challenge, but due to problems attributable to SAS, they are not credited with miles for all routes flown.
I remind you it is necessary to fly with at least 15 carriers to cross the million mark, but it's not enough to take a flight, you need to credit the flight on your SAS card And this is where the problems are arising.
In my case to date I have made 13 flights, but only 11 have been properly credited. In the past few days I was able to make the request for back-crediting the China Airlines flight and now among those flown I am missing KLM and Garuda Indonesia. The retrocredit can be requested 8 days have passed since the flight, but unfortunately the platform always returns only error.
At the moment then on my Eurobonus card I have registered 11 carriers, totaling just under 30 thousand Eurobonus points, and just for the record, I have already virtually pocketed the consolation prize of 100 thousand points, but of course I am aiming for the full haul.
My next effort is also my last chance
The problem of the KLM flight; mistakenly believed on the wrong card is easy to solve, virtually impossible to recover a flight with Garuda Indonesia instead.
Wednesday afternoon I will leave From Genoa to Barcelona, via Amsterdam. Two flights with KLM, hoping that at least one of them will be correctly counted on the Eurobonus card. I won't have time to get out of the airport and in the evening I will take the last flight of AirEuropa, which flies to Madrid with a 787. In the capital of Spain I will sleep a couple of hours. before departing by Tarom towards Bucharest in Romania.
Here again I will not have much time to be a tourist since Friday morning at dawn. I will be boarding an Air France flight to Nice, via Paris. Six flights in all, aboard four different Skyteam carriers. As I had written in my first article. I had left a European carrier out of the picture, just to have a plan B, What I hadn't calculated was that I would miss a flight with KLM. thus forcing me to have to fly, again, with the Dutch company.
I will complete everything by December 20, thus having 11 days to be able to see the flights made credited. On the net, the news is not the best, AirEuropa is the most volatile in crediting miles, so I've set my sights on a business class ticket between Barcelona and Madrid, although I hope I don't have to go crazy.
In conclusion
If something goes wrong I will have "failed." of course, the hope is that SAS will solve the problems with its platform and I will then be booked to fly with Garuda Indonesia, otherwise I have no idea in the week of Christmas if I will be able to come up with something to save the hunt.
