In this article:
As we have recounted in other articles, it has been almost 15 years since Oman Air has been present in the Italian market. Milan was among the very first long-haul destinations when the Sultanate airline decided to expand its network in Europe and Asia at the end of the first decade of the 2000s. And today, finally, Rome has also been added..
Rome-Muscat will have 4 weekly frequencies, the Monday, Wednesday, Friday e Sunday. Departure from Rome is scheduled at 20:30, while landing in Muscat is scheduled for 05:45 the following day (local time); on the reverse leg, takeoff from Muscat will be at 15:00 and landing in FCO is scheduled for 19:30.
There are 6 European destinations to which Oman Air flies: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Milan; and all are served by the Boeing 787-9, the Muscat-based company's flagship, outfitted in two classes, economy and business (with the beautiful Apex Suites).
Rome, therefore, becomes the seventh European destination: in this case, however, the flights will not be operated with Dreamliners but with B737 MAX 8s. This means. no Apex Suite: The 737's business will have 12 recliner seats and not lie-flat, 2-2 layout. Those traveling in economy, on the other hand, will not notice much of a difference: sure, flying on a single aisle and not a wide fuselage is a different story, but the seat has the same width and virtually the same legroom, plus a 10.2-inch entertainment screen.
