Small update on the "who wants to be a millionaire" question the SAS initiative that is causing a lot of talk in the Scandinavian airline world. In recent days due to the many questions received the company updated the terms and conditions of the challenge, putting an end to doubts (and nightmares) of frequent flyers. No bad surprises, new member carrier Skyteam has made the rules of the challenge much clearer and uninterpretable.
Clarifications on the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" challenge.
Based on feedback from members, we decided to accept all flights made until the end of the campaign, December 31, 2024. We will accept retroactive registration of these flights in January 2025, and because of this we will have a slight delay in announcing the results.
In this article:
It sounds unbelievable, but instead SAS has issued an update specifying that the changes come precisely as a result of questions asked by users. Chapeau.
It was also explained that flights taken throughout the promo period (Oct. 8-Dec. 31) also count, and that the important thing is to register by the end of the challenge.
I became Silver Eurobonus
There is a marginal aspect, at least for me, in the challenge. Namely the one that by flying Skyteam and crediting flights on the Eurobonus card you get qualifying points and then you can scale the program. I wasn't interested in this card, partly because I'm currently Executive with ITA Airways and Club2000 with Flying Blue, but it always has small benefits to have an elite card, especially in this situation.
For example. SAS is still one of the few companies that sends home the luggage card and tag And so I have already taken advantage of the opportunity. Most importantly it will help me accumulate more points with the remaining flights and it should also help me in my search for award tickets, that is, in how I will use the loot (if I can get it)
At the moment for me it has not gone smoothly
My first problem was the crediting of the Milan/Amsterdam flight. made with KLM. Xiamen Airlines credited that flight on the Flying Blue card, although I had specified the SAS card and that the second flight the one on Xiamen Air was instead correctly put on my Eurobonus. I immediately contacted FB and asked them to remove the credit, wrote to Xiamen, but to date I have not received a response or credit on the correct card. Today I also made the Claim request directly to SAS, since it has been 8 days since the flight.
Of all the flights I took over the course of the past week. I am still missing accreditations for two flights: The one on board China Airlines from Seoul to Taipei and the one with Garuda Indonesia from Jakarta to Guangzhou. I am not particularly concerned, because the two flights were in a qualifying class, so it is only a matter of time before they appear on my statement.
Therefore, to close my challenge I would still have 2 more flights to go.: AirEuropa and Air France. I had originally planned to stop at 15, but as a precaution I will fly again with KLM and will also do one leg aboard Tarom to further shield myself from nasty surprises.
It is still feasible
There are 21 days left until the end of the promotion And, in response to the many messages I am receiving, yes it is still feasible. Of course, time is short and as the holidays approach it becomes increasingly problematic to find "humane" prices to buy 15 one-way cash tickets, but I also remind you that Italian American Express holders can transfer MR points to the Eurobonus card and redeem award tickets for flights, in economy the expense is very conenuted by also taking advantage of several sweetspots that SAS's program has in its folds.
