Wizz Air will no longer connect Rome e Abu Dhabi: flights will operate until January 13, 2025, when the last flight will take off from FCO in the direction of UAE. We can, therefore, say goodbye to low-cost connections to AUH.
In this article:
The Hungarian carrier, until next 13/01, will continue to offer the beauty of one flight a day to Abu Dhabi: Departure from Fiumicino is scheduled at 18:05, while arrival at Zayed International Airport is expected after nearly 6 hours of flight time, at 02:55 (local time).
This is very bad news, evidently, not only for those who recently did Wizz Air's All You Can Fly-and who were therefore counting on flying virtually free to Abu Dhabi-but also for those who were counting on taking advantage of this connection to go to the Maldives, for example.
The only one rejoicing, in fact, is. Etihad: If until today it was offering very competitive fares at less than €200 to fly roundtrip from Rome to Abu Dhabi, now that competition from the Hungarian carrier is eliminated it will be able to raise prices, as it is the only airline to connect - nonstop - the two cities.
The news is, if possible, even worse when we consider that Wizz Air's FCO-AUH flight. will also not be available during summer '25: If you open the reservation calendar, in fact, you will not be able to select any date after January 13.
