It was October 1, 2020 When, in the midst of the pandemic, the then national airline Alitalia suspended the historic flight MXP-FCO. Today, after a stop of just over 4 years, the direct link between Italy's two main airports is available again.
In this article:
From next Jan. 26 will be Aeroitalia to run this route, with 3 flights per day (2 on Saturdays), for a total of 20 connections per week. Departures from Milan-Malpensa are scheduled at 07:10, 11:50 and 18:40; from Fiumicino, however, takeoffs will be at 09:30, 15:00 and the last at 21:10.

On Saturdays, as mentioned, there will be only two flights, those in the morning and early afternoon: evening operations, however, will not be available. The flights, which can already be purchased, will depart from a rate of €109.98 For a round-trip ticket (choosing the "Basic" fare).

As can be seen from the seat map that appears when booking, the aircraft used will be theATR 72: set up with only one class, economy, has a maximum capacity of 68 places.
Aeroitalia, founded in 2022, currently flies on 15 Italian airports (Cagliari, Olbia, Cuneo, Milan-Linate, Milan-Bergamo, Parma, Bologna, Florence, Perugia, Rome, Palermo, Lamezia Terme, Trapani, Catania, and Comiso), offers 3 international destinations (Bacau, Brno, Bucharest, Lublin, Tunis) and has a fleet of 14 aircraft: 11 Boeing 737s (2 of them in the-400 version), 2 ATR 72-600s, and one Airbus A319-100 on lease; these will soon be joined by two Embraer ERJ-175.
