Points expiration is a constant in Italian loyalty programs, Point collections unfortunately fall under the law governing sweepstakes and this Allows program managers to expire points and eliminate a passive item in the budget. As the Coop points deadline is approaching, and thanks to a community reader who reminded me of the possibility, today I am reposting In an updated key what I had written in the past.
In this article:
If you are looking for a more interesting way to use them instead of redeeming, by paying, a pot or a blanket here's how to convert them toward the Air France KLM loyalty program.
When do Coop points expire
The first thing to understand is that, unlike Esselunga or Carrefour, Coop supermarkets belong to different cooperatives and therefore have different rules, catalog and deadlines.

If you have points in these cards pust convert, with a different conversion rate, your points toward the Mymiglia card, which is Alitalia's old Millemiglia card that is now owned by Trenitalia.
How to convert Coop points to Flying Blue miles
When there was Millemiglia you could convert Coop points to those of the Alitalia loyalty program, today this is no longer possible, but you can move them to the Air France KLM loyalty program.
The transition is simple, just have an account with MyMiglia and triangulate the points. First from Coop they are switched to MyMiles and then from there they are turned over to Flying Blue.
How many Flying Blue points you get with Coop points.
As explained above, conversion to MyMiles varies depending on the referral program. In my case being from Liguria I get the best rate since 100 Coop points become 500 Mymiglia points.
Conversion from MyMiles to Flying Blue is available (almost) continuously and the conversion rate is 4:1, that is, for every 1,000 points you transfer you get 250 Flying Blue miles, in fact, we take home a conversion 1 coop point = 1.25 miles.
Keeping in mind that, net of promotions, you accumulate 1 point for every € of spending and 2 points for every liter of gasoline from enercoop, this allows for the classic double dipping. That is, getting twice as much with a single expenditure. You pay with a credit card that generates points/miles, accumulate points on a loyalty program that can in turn generate miles.
