Low-cost airline Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced a New nonstop long-haul route that will connect Singapore's Changi Airport with Vienna. The service will operate three times a week using Boeing 787 aircraft, considering that to date there is no direct flight from the Austrian capital to Singapore. This flight will be very attractive, not only for local passengers, but also by those who are looking for a cheap flight to Asia.

At the same time, however, it must be recorded that the other route operated by Scoot in Europe, namely the flight Singapore/Athens with continuation to Berlin Will see an operational change. As of the end of the winter schedule, the Athens/Berlin route will be cut. and only the route between Greece and Singapore will remain operational.
Scoot's Vienna/Singapore Direct Flight
Direct service will be in place from June 2025 and will join the flights already operating between Singapore and Athens. The flights will begin on June 3, 2025 With the following schedule:
Days | Flight | Aircraft | From | Timetable | A | Timetable | Duration |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday | TR708 | 787-8 | SIN | 03:00 | VIE | 10:10 | 13:10 |
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday | TR709 | 787-8 | VIE | 11:25 | SIN | 04:50 (+1) | 11:25 |
Let's say the hours are not the best since the 11:25 a.m. departure from Vienna means arriving in Singapore at 5 a.m. the next day. The return flight, on the other hand Leaves late at night from Singapore, That I remember it is an airport that never sleeps, arriving at 10 a.m. in Vienna.
But wanting to see the glass half full, these operations are great if you want to have a perfect timetable to continue on both Scoot's network and other Asian low-costs.
Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot, commented: "We are committed to expanding our network and offering travelers new destinations around the world at affordable prices. As the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna, we are excited to introduce this service starting in June, just in time for the vacations."
Flights are already available for booking, with introductory fares starting from 618 Singapore dollars round trip in Economy Class e $1,318 in ScootPlus. While ScootPlus includes seat selection, meals and 30 kg of luggage, with the Economy ticket these services are available for a fee.
How to fly aboard Scoot
Flights to Vienna will be operated with Scoot's Boeing 787-8, configured with 329 seats:
- 18 places in ScootPlus (2-3-2)
- 311 seats in Economy (3-3-3)
ScootPlus is more comfortable, similar to a Premium Economy of all traditional airlines.
Economy offers limited space with the seat pitch, i.e., the distance between rows, is 76.2 cm, while the width is 45.72 cm, note that there is no IFE system on board, power outlets are chargeable, like meal, drinks and everything else.
Convenient to use Scoot
Tickets are already on sale and as usual the prices are really aggressive, it is possible to fly for less than 200€ a really attractive amount if you don't need luggage and don't have seat preferences. Personally, however, I would opt for ScootPlus which for less than 500€ includes everything: seat, suitcase, food, power outlets and even a voucher to use wi-fi.
If you go much higher than these prices in my opinion, as for the flights of Norsand, the discussion changes and the comparison with a premium company does not hold up at all.
