Today, January 23, the most anticipated transfer of my life arrived, this morning I received the email from SAS that the million miles was officially credited to my account.
In this article:
If you don't know what I'm talking about is a challenge SAS had issued to all global frequent flyers. To get the million points it was imperative to complete 15 flights aboard as many Skyteam carriers by crediting them to the Eurobonus card, or the company's frequent flyer.
All this to celebrate his transition from Star Alliance to Skyteam that took place last Sept. 1.
Mission accomplished
Sure I was already certain that I had completed the challenge launched by SAS., but never say never. My Eurobonus point balance today reads the magical figure of 1,031,465 points. Of course nitpicking I would still miss the credit for two flights the Malpensa Amsterdam in business with KLM and the flight with Garuda Indonesia from Jakarta to Guangzhou.
I now have until August 31, 2029 to burn these points, and I have to say it won't be a big deal to do so, but knowing that I have more than 4 years puts me safe from not having time to Maximizing the return on my investment.
My challenge is starting soon: 300 thousand SAS miles up for grabs.
Now that all the pieces have fallen into place, I can kick off my challenge, which is the one that I will raffle off about 30% of the miles gained from this challenge. During the month of February I will make the rules of my challenge official., or how I will be raffling off business, premium economy and economy tickets to travel to an intercontinental destination in the SAS network.
For the avoidance of doubt, I specify that this will not be a "group trip" but of a opportunity to travel at the expense of the bum and probably with the bum.
In conclusion
It was not easy, many travelers I met along the way had to settle for an intermediate prize, I, on the other hand, am happy that I was able to take home the maximum prize money. And now like when my daughter has 10 euros in her wallet I can't wait to start spending.
